Knight's bread recipe
Real baking experience with Franz. In the video film he shows how to bake his delicious sourdough bread with King Ludwig wheat beer yourself. Of course, he also gave us the ingredients and quantities. You can find them in the description below.
Sourdough bread without yeast
30g sourdough starter
90g water
90g wholemeal rye flour
1 Prepare the dough and let it rest for 8-10 hours.
2 Then mix with:
240 g rye flour
240 g 40 g whole wheat flour or spelt flour
30 g oat flakes
15 g salt
20 g bread spice
365 g König Ludwig Weißbier Dunkel
3 Stir slowly for 10 min, then let rise for 2 hours.
4 Knead again (fold), then let rise in proofing basket for about 1 hour.
5 In the pot, bake for about 30 min at 230 C, then about 25 min at 200 C without a lid.
6 The bread is ready when you tap the bottom of the bread, and it sounds hollow.
7 Enjoy!

Project „Starnberger Tafel e.V.“
Nominated by Dame Marion and Sir Markus
Following the example of the American "Foodbanks" founded in 1993, so called "Tafeln" with regional distribution points now ensure a balance between abundance and scarcity throughout Germany. Since 1998, volunteers have also been active in Starnberg following this model, since 2016 as the official "Starnberger Tafel e.V." The association works on a voluntary, independent and donation-based basis with currently about 35 volunteers.
Every Thursday, food from regional sponsors is distributed to people in need in Starnberg. Goods that are taken off the shelves because they are past their best-before date or have faulty labelling. Products that are of perfect quality and fit for consumption, but would still end up in the rubbish. The food bank takes them back to their real purpose: to feed people.
Why this project deserves support:
"The Starnberger Tafel impresses me in its idea and implementation: passing on overdue food instead of destroying it, involving the regional shops and businesses as donors. Standing up for others at the distribution market in all weathers. Every Thursday when I see this, it reinforces my belief that every little good deed has its impact!" Sir Markus, the Inventive One to Berg
"The work of the Starnberger Tafel is particularly close to my heart. Because it builds a bridge between abundance and need with a sensible, ecological concept and contributes to social fairness. Donations are always urgently needed, and the active commitment deserves support. Because here, independently and on a voluntary basis, people make themselves strong for fellow human beings in a very direct and close way.“ Dame Marion, the stylish one from Lake Starnberg

The Bavarian elixir of life?", „Geisenfeld's monastery history - dramatic interplay of Bavarian history" and many more.
Why this project deserves support:
„To my point of view of a responsible and open minded attitude also includes is that we - especially in this pandemic time - do not lose sight of our roots. Where do we come from? Which important cultural skills have we gained? Knowing this is important and inspiring for the spirit and soul of people. Tradition, craftsmanship and history are all part of our cultural base. Geisenfeld’s „Stadtstörche" combine all these elements in their tours and productions. A commitment like this is indispensable for our society.“ Sir Franz, the virtuous one from the Hallertau
